International Conference on New Music Education

in the context of the ISCM World Music Days

On the occasion of ISCM World Music Days MATRIX New Music Centre decided to organize a conference on the topic of new music education.

With this conference, we aim at placing in the spotlights these forms of music education that are especifically dedicated to contemporary music. Offering different perspectives, we want to reach both professionals from the field of contemporary music, educators, (music) teachers and students. Therefore, part of the program consists of parallel sessions, so all participants should be able to find a session to their liking.
During one of the plenum sessions, an overview of new music education in its many different shapes and sizes will be presented.

 Exchange project by K&K Kulturmanagement & Kommunikation (DE), MATRIX and basisschool Toverveld (Veltem-Beisem) (primary school), based on the project "QuerKlang - Experimentelles Komponieren in die Schule" by K&K, MaerzMusik and the Universität der Kunste (Berlin, DE).
